· Do you find it tricky to express yourself in writing?
· Do you find essays difficult or overwhelming?
· Would you like help in organising your thoughts and developing critical thinking?
Join Anna Wilson, a published author and Royal Literary Fund Fellow to explore how to develop your writing skills. Whether you are thinking of going on to college, university, an apprenticeship or going straight into the world of work, you will benefit from this workshop.
Anna lives in Penzance. She has over twenty years’ experience in running workshops and teaching at school and university. She has also published 60 books for adults and children.
Up until now the Royal Literary Fund workshops have only been available to schools, but Anna has recently received funding to run a workshop here at Cornwall Museum and Art Gallery for homeschooled young people.
The workshop is divided into four hour-long sessions. We start by discussing what writing is for and what different writing styles look like. We move on to exploring what critical thinking means, how to argue our point of view and how to edit and structure our writing.
The sessions are highly interactive and designed to demystify the writing process. Anna will share approaches and techniques to encourage you to feel that writing is not a hurdle but an opportunity.
