Throwing the Moon
'Throwing the Moon' - Thursday 15th October - 7 to 8:15pm
Giving us an insight into the 'Fired Moon' exhibition, potter Chris Prindl makes the museum Main Gallery his workshop and combines a talk about his practice with a demonstration on his wheel.
In his series of work, master potter Chris Prindl explores the alchemical transformations through his interpretation of the Korean Moon Jar, one of the most celebrated forms in ceramic history. These Moon Jars are made from Cornish china clay and glazed using minerals and metals found in Cornwall’s unique landscape. They are fired using local wood and Cornish salt, drawing on materials that are deeply connected to the region and its natural environment.
Find out more about the exhibition here.
Doors open at 6:30pm and the demonstration starts at 7pm.
