Lunchtime Talk: Lunar Gazing
Wednesday 15th July - 1-2pm
Free with an annual pass
Lunar Gazing: The History of Human Connection to the Moon with a Focus on Cornwall
Join archaeoastronomer Carolyn Kennett for a talk delving into Cornwall's ties with the moon. Archaeoastronomy attempts to understand the secrets that have been locked into the stones by studying the position and design of the monuments and linking them to the sky and landscape around them.
Carolyn's fascinating talk will take us on a journey to visit the people of the Neolithic and Bronze age and their attempts to make sense of the motions in the sky, just as we still do today. The stone monuments in our landscape leave us clues as to how they did this.
