Creative Wellbeing Cafe
Creative Wellbeing Cafe is back on March 3rd!
Drop in once a month to Cornwall Museum & Art Gallery for creative activities and a cup of tea. Bring your own creative projects or join in with ours. This group is open to all adults who may benefit from a calm and creative space.
The group takes place on the first Tuesday of each month 3 - 4pm, meet at the front desk. Free teas and coffees provided.
2026/2027 programme:
Tuesday 3rd MARCH- The Happy Newspaper exhibition
Collaborative ‘Ripple Effect Mural’ based on members' heroes.
Tuesday 7th APRIL- The Cornish Myths and Legends exhibition
Create a collaborative mythic map of Cornwall.
Tuesday 5th MAY- The Al Fresco exhibition
Looking at paintings of outside scenes. Recreate part or all of one using watercolours and line pens.
Tuesday 2nd JUNE- The Weight of Light exhibition
Exploration of the Arctic/art based on the exhibition.
Tuesday 7th JULY- From masks to emojis- emotion through art
Exploration of how people have expressed emotion on paper throughout history. From masks to emojis (World Emoji Day- July 17th). Art activity on expressing emotions through colour and shape.
Tuesday 4th AUGUST- Wildlife inspired Art
Study biological illustrations of bats and look at the museum’s collection of insects.
Tuesday 1st SEPTEMBER- International Literacy Day
Book cover design or redesign for a book title, real or imagined. Visual storytelling through art eg; comic strip or similar.
Tuesday 6th OCTOBER- World Mental Health Day
Create a ‘Positive Pebble’ to leave in public.
Tuesday 3rd NOVEMBER- Weaving Myth and Memory exhibition
Sew or stick a felt tile linked to the themes of the exhibition.
Tuesday 1st DECEMBER- Christmas Printing
Create Christmas prints on card using tinfoil, paint and cotton buds.
Tuesday 12th JANUARY- World Snow Day (note it is not Tuesday 5th January!)
Snowflake symmetry and winter landscape paintings.
Tuesday 2nd FEBRUARY- Random Acts of Kindness Day
Create kindness cards or small art gifts to leave in public spaces.
